Five habits of olympiad problem solvers
6 Oct 2026, Brazil Singh
- Try small cases. Patterns appear when n = 1, 2, 3.
- Draw it. Most geometry problems solve themselves on paper.
- Work backwards from what the answer must look like.
- Check the edges — zero, one, and the largest value.
- Write it cleanly. Judges mark what they can read.
